Two Inch Astronaut is an indie punk band who write crunchy, fuzzy, melodic tunes. They’re a standout act on Exploding in Sound Records’ constantly challenging roster which includes Porches, Krill, LVL UP and Pile. Formed in around 2010, Two Inch got major props for the release of 2014’s powerful record, “Foulbrood”. It’s catchier, more melodic, and more intriguing than prior releases. Sam’s odd guitar timing, colorful usage of more than the instrument’s strings, and thunderous tone contribute to the sonic increase of the album. From quick singalongs like “Cigarettes, Boys and Movies” to 7-minute slow-burner “Dead White Boy”, Foulbrood is unpredictable and downright enjoyable rock. Inspired by DC Hardcore and a strong DIY ethic, Two Inch Astronaut is making waves with essentially bedroom recordings. Hear them perform tracks new and old here on Audiotree Live.
