About the band
Two passionate musicians, four tracks, one goal: OUTSIDERS UNITE! With their "Forever Outsider" EP, release date May 26th 2023, The Deadnotes dare to break out of their usual environment, overcome genre stigmas and set a sign against putting the band in a pigeonhole. "We've always been in a niche – For indie to pop and for pop to indie; for punk to pop and for pop to punk. For a long time, we’ve tried to create a space for ourselves as a band in these segments – until we realized that it didn't feel right and we'd rather create our own space," says Darius (vocals / guitar). Finally getting and feeling comfortable in this niche, the duo presents a sound that you would never expect from a band from Germany. Complex song structures, unusual instrument combinations, choirs and a special feature guest contribute to an artistic potpourri with high surprise potential. "Core themes of our band are our own fears and insecurities - both personally as an individual, as well as in our band context. Overall, we’re talking about the feeling of not really fitting in anywhere. Isolation from friends, partners or family as a band that is constantly on tour, all the way to having depression." says Darius (vocals / guitar). "Forever Outsider" is not just an EP. "Forever Outsider" is an attitude towards life - and no other band from Germany reflects it as authentically, multidimensionally and captivating as The Deadnotes. OUTSIDERS UNITE!
