Wake Owl

Wake Owl is the Portland based experimental indie brainchild of Colyn Cameron and Aiden Brent-Briscall. They write chill rock music with multiple instrumentals. With a distinctly retro vibe, many songs flow with long, slow-churning instrumental breaks. Cameron’s voice is sweet and hazy, with just a dash of alt-folk twang. Their stand out performer is Brent-Briscall who plays everything from bass to violin. He shreds nasty licks over a swaying chorus and fills space with simple violin parts.

“Private World of Paradise” is Cameron’s debut record and project many years in the running. Wake Owl has just gotten their footing and will surely continue to grow their dark and poppy indie sound.
