The Bottle Rockets

The Bottle Rockets are an alt-country band founded by Brian Henneman and Mark Ortmann in 1992. Credited along with Uncle Tupelo with the 90’s revival of alt-country, they merge a riff-heavy punk aesthetic with the hard-working, blue-collar work ethic of Middle America. Frontman Brian Henneman is regarded as a potent storyteller who is capable of gleaning revelations from simple subject matter and authentically personalizing biographical tales.

They have a discography that includes 11 LP’s and one live record. Their most recent release, “South Broadway Athletic Club,” was produced by long time friend and cohort Eric Ambel, and was released through Bloodshot Records, who have worked with the band for nearly a decade. In an effort to cater to the current ADD music climate, The Bottle Rockets focused their attention on the strength of single tracks rather than the conceptual approach of the past. The change in mentality brought them an overwhelming amount of recent success; instead of relying on a few singles, they created an album of songs that each impress on their own.

The Bottle Rockets have had their LP’s printed to vinyl, cassette, CD, and released digitally. They’ve seen the music industry wax and wane and have toured enough for two lifetimes. No matter how the state of the industry or attention from listeners has changed, the Bottle Rockets have continued to write and perform to impress. They have and always will be a folk rock band guised in biker garb who tell stories of the heartland with an unmatched level of honesty.
