Penicillin Baby is a psych-rock/garage quartet. Their Southeast demeanor and 70’s sensibility blends in a cocktail of floating riffs, cloudy effects, and pop choruses that the band dubs ‘Space Trash.’ They prefer all things weird, colorful, and trippy; ripping scenes from Netflix’s innermost D-list film archive to create colorful, contrasting music videos. There’s a constant rotation of high talent in Nashville that allows musicians to have multiple projects, as is the case with frontman Jon Conant.

Penicillin Baby is signed to and distributed by Jeffrey Drag Records out of Nashville. They tour with other bands on the label and often share band members. Conant himself is one quarter of Bad Cop, a 60’s throwback rock group fronted by Jeffrey Drag’s founder, Adam Moult. It’s these kind of inner-band connections that give young Nashville bands a promising shot regardless of size or draw. Role rotation and combined tours foster a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration within the thriving community.
