Backwards Dancer is an alternative rock band with early 2000's emo influences who released their self-titled debut on Rory Records. Rory is an imprint of Equal Vision run by Max Bemis (Say Anything) who has a personal affinity for the band's catchy pop sensibilities and thoughtful, intense compositions. Lead singer Zack Shaw's poignant autobiographical writing style lends itself to songs that are truthful and personal but that ultimately reflect the broader human condition.
