Ultra Q

Led by Jakob Armstrong, the youngest son of Green Day vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong, Oakland, California's Ultra Q represent a fresh take on post-punk, shoegaze and emo music. Their debut album, 'My Guardian Angel,’ produced by Chris Coady (TV on the Radio, Beach House, Massive Attack, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), made a splash with its clever guitar interplay and widescreen pop-punk energy. Fusing together the skyward lift of Interpol, the clever guitar interplay of the Strokes, the maudlin romanticism of the Cure, and the narrative gifts of Arctic Monkeys, Ultra Q’s Audiotree Live performance proves that they’ve taken the lessons of their predecessors and are forging a path all their own. During their interview with Audiotree Host, Rita Lukea, Ultra Q discuss what they have queued up in their tour van, the process behind ‘'My Guardian Angel,' and more.
