LIES
Breaking free of generic constraints, Brooklyn and Chicago based duo LIES, craft explosive baroque-pop songs with a new wave punch. Cousins Mike and Nate Kinsella are no strangers to the world of music (American Football, midwest emo, ever heard of it??). In their new project LIES, the Kinsella cousins collaborate long distance, Nate in New York obsessing over the arrangements and Mike in Chicago, writing about the obsessive aspects of love and what happens when it breaks. Their session is alive with striking hooks nested in glorious composites of keyboard melodies and digital textures, powerhouse rhythms, sweeping strings, propulsive drums, and kaleidoscopic sequencers. Interviewed by resident Audiotree host Rita Lukea, the band opens up about the band’s beginnings, how they developed their sound, and what it's like creating music between two cities.
