Penny and Sparrow make minimalist music with a lot of soul. Their emotional, lyrically heavy ballads contain soft spoken, ethereal harmonies sung over airy acoustic or electric guitar. The duo records with a full band and sometimes perform as such, but retain a preference for the intimacy and financial freedom of a two-piece.
